Since he graduated from the Option-Théâtre of Collège Lionel-Groulx of Sainte-Thérèse in 1988, Jean Stéphane Roy has performed in more than 60 theater productions and directed more than a hundred in both languages all over the country. Jean Stéphane is now in his first year of experience teaching at the University of Ottawa. But since 1990, he has taught in many theater institutions in Canada like the Option-Théâtre of Collège Lionel-Groulx of Sainte-Thérèse, Option-Théâtre of C.E.G.E.P. of Saint-Hyacinthe, Conservatoire of Theater of Montreal, National Theater School of Canada and at the University of Alberta.

  • 2000 Named Best actor of the year by the critics of Edmonton for the Character « Azdak » in The Caucasian Chalk Circle of Bertold Brecht.
  • 1998 Prix du meilleur événement extérieur au Québec (La Ronde de Nuit, parade nocture produite avec Le Musée d’Histoire et d’Archéologie de Pointe-à-Callière)
  • 1998 Masque de la meilleure production région. (Adieu Beauté de François Archambault)
