Theatres and premises
Since 1986, the Department of Theatre's offices, classrooms, theatres, shops and storage facilities have been located in the historic stone building at 133-135 Séraphin Marion Street. The Department has two fully equipped theatres, a small directors' studio, shops, storage facilities, seven classroom/rehearsal halls, as well as offices and technical studios.
The Department's main theatre is Academic Hall, a 180-seat, flexible end-stage theatre with its own dressing rooms, green room, shower, control booth and equipment room.
The Léonard Beaulne Studio is a 1,400-square-foot 'black-box' theatre with flexible seating, separate dressing rooms, lobby, and a props storage room. It has seating for approximately seventy-five.
There is also a small, 600-square-foot Directors' Studio reserved for student directing exercises. It is minimally equipped with a small two-batten grid, a full set of black velour drapes, a separate equipment storage room, and a portable dimmer.
